Today, 12 November 2024, in Hanoi, a panel discussion took place decoding sustainable corporate governance strategy, together with the Vietnam ESG initiative. The panel was attended by: Ms. Trịnh Thị Hương – Deputy Director General, Agency for Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment
Mr. Juan Bablo – Deputy Director of the Education – Economic Growth and Governance Programme, United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Together with many businesses interested in and pioneering the ESG field in Vietnam
At the panel, Dr. Bùi Thanh Minh – Deputy Director in charge of technical affairs at the Office of the Private Economic Development Research Board assessed the readiness of Vietnamese businesses for the sustainable development trend and ESG practices. As a pioneering business in the ESG field in Vietnam, VietESG attended and listened to the insights shared by leaders and project representatives, as well as the early success stories of several businesses in implementing ESG.
Mr. Phạm Quốc Hưng – CEO of VietESG considered the views and recommendations compiled at the panel to be very accurate, particularly regarding the difficulties in capital, policy, governance and ESG personnel during the ESG transition in Vietnam. He also highly appreciated the efforts and effectiveness of the Project, which has helped Vietnamese businesses make further progress in their ESG transition.

“Ready to accompany and extend a helping hand in order to become one of the businesses actively engaged in ESG in Vietnam, VietESG will, in the coming period, place particular emphasis on supporting businesses and sustainable development organisations in Vietnam through community projects.
At the same time, in the field of ESG assessment, VietESG aims to support businesses in determining their ESG maturity through international standards such as GRI and MSCI. On that basis, businesses can identify their strengths and the areas that need improvement in order to meet partners' requirements and sustainable development trends” – Mr. Hưng shared!
