In an effort to realise its commitment to sustainable development and strengthen internal capacity, the WWF-Vietnam Office in Cần Thơ, in partnership with VietESG, organised an in-depth 3-day ESG Training Course from 11 to 13 June 2025.
The event aimed to equip staff with foundational knowledge and tools on ESG (Environmental – Social – Governance), helping WWF-Vietnam gradually integrate ESG into project management, policy dialogue and nature conservation programmes.
🐾 ABOUT WWF-VIETNAM – CẦN THƠ OFFICE
As one of WWF-Vietnam's most dynamic regional offices, the Cần Thơ Office serves as the focal point for implementing conservation and sustainable development programmes in the Mekong Delta – a region rich in resources but also facing many challenges from climate change, land subsidence, sea-level rise and over-exploitation of resources.
From habitat conservation and mangrove restoration programmes to ecological agriculture transition and the development of sustainable seafood value chains, the WWF team in Cần Thơ constantly seeks solutions that balance economic development and the protection of natural resources.

🎓 ESG TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Through the programme, WWF staff will:

Master foundational ESG knowledge, from concepts to strategic role;

Master ESG measurement and planning tools, and integrate them into conservation programmes and internal operations;

Understand and apply ESG reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD;
-
Analyse leading ESG case studies, relating them to Mekong Delta realities such as regenerative agriculture, responsible aquaculture, green finance…

🧭 OUTCOMES OF THE TRAINING: WHAT DO PARTICIPANTS ACHIEVE?
After 3 days of learning and exchange, the WWF staff attending the course will:

✅ Gain an in-depth understanding of ESG fundamentals and global trends, clearly positioning the organisation's role in the sustainable development landscape;

✅ Be able to use ESG tools, develop action plans and integrate them into specific activities;

✅ Have a firm grasp of international ESG reporting standards and know how to initiate an ESG report for the organisation;

✅ Analyse and apply ESG practices through cases from the agriculture, finance and environment sectors;

✅ Strengthen cross-disciplinary thinking, enhance internal cohesion and build a network of core ESG staff within the organisation.
