The in-depth training programme “ESG Foundations & Reporting Practice”, designed by VietESG exclusively for NFC, took place over two days, 27 and 28 October 2025.
Notably, the programme was attended by the most senior leadership, including Ms. Trần Thị Kiều Hương – Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Phan Hoàng Ân – CEO, along with all heads and deputy heads of operating departments and senior managers. This full attendance demonstrated NFC's seriousness and strong determination to pursue its ESG transformation for international integration.
Delivering his guiding remarks at the start of the programme, Mr. Phan Hoàng Ân (CEO of NFC) affirmed: “Our determination to pursue ESG transformation is a strategy and a goal of NFC in this new phase, to ensure that business growth goes hand in hand with social and environmental sustainability.”
Day 1: From Theoretical Foundations to a “Material ESG Map”
The first day of training (27 October) focused on the theme “ESG Foundations & Identifying Material Issues”. VietESG's experts analysed global ESG trends in depth and the direct links between the three E-S-G pillars and the food industry value chain.
The highlight of the day was a hands-on session identifying ESG risks and opportunities (related to energy, food safety, packaging, labour…). By the end of the day, the NFC team had its own “material ESG map”, laying the initial data foundation for an official ESG report.
Day 2: Turning Data into a “Draft ESG Report Framework”
Building on that success, the second day of training (28 October) addressed the theme “Building & Practising ESG Reporting”. Participants were introduced to the principles and structure of reporting under international standards (GRI, CSRD) and practised building a report from internal data.
The greatest value NFC gained was a complete “draft ESG report framework” and a clear 1-3 year ESG implementation roadmap, helping the leadership both ensure regulatory compliance and build an international competitive advantage.
Practical Results and Impressions from Those Involved
Summing up the two days of training, the value VietESG delivered to NFC was not just a course completion certificate, but concrete “assets”: a Material ESG Map and an ESG Report Framework.
